Another outstanding creation by Hannon Richards. This project studies intensively the archetypal narrow urban residences of the area which essentially consisted in Georgian or Victorian tall infill configurations. Using this building form as a base, a series of abstractive process were performed in a sequential manner. Principally, the abstractions measured the substitution of horizontal areas and programmed spaces for vertical areas and their resulting distortions on elevations and floor plan arrangement. Dislocated stairs, sequential vertical spaces in sue. While the original forms and spaces are re-programmed and distorted, remnant of the original archetype are visible, compositionally aesthetically and programmatically. The dwelling therefore engages the dweller in a mixture of past and future expectations and translations. Well under construction, the home will ready for occupancy this fall.
